Marcus Bussey
Marcus began teaching guitar while still in upper high school in 1975. He studied from 1975 to 1984 with the West Australian guitarist Brian Black. It was Black’s emphasis on solid tone, his creative engagement with guitar pedagogy and his inspirational playing that shaped Marcus’s aesthetic and understanding of guitar.
Marcus has also been a long time friend of guitar maker Richard Howell http://www.howellguitars.com/ . He has played one of Richard’s guitars since 1981 and if he had one wish it would be to see all of his students learning on a quality instrument.
Marcus is also a futurist with an interest in culture and creative engagements with life that affirm the best in us all, empower us to creatively engage with life’s challenges and also see the bright side of everything. Marcus currently teaches Suzuki Guitar at the Montessori International College, in Sippy Downs, Queensland Australia. He also teaches courses in sustainable futures and world history at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Furthermore he teaches on line courses through Prout College (www.proutcollege.org) on Education for Liberation and Tantra, Spirituality and Social Change.
